I have a custom built PC: Intel E6750, Foxconn X38A mobo, Radeon 3780, and 4GB of memory, two 500GB Seagates in RAID 0 config, and I was able to get SP1 without any problems....so far

Exactly the same problem with my Dell + nVidia card and Vista SP1. I've long been a huge fan of Microsoft. If the frustrations don't stop, even I may start looking for alternatives. :-(
I don't have time to constantly fiddle with the OS. I just want it to work.

I installed SP1 on my laptop. Within 24 Hours I was getting BSOD, and video issues, my wireless internet stopped working and random reboots all over the place. I have used my HP restore disk to put my Laptop back to factory Condition. I will not install SP1 again.

What the hell is up w/ Microsoft? I stress out every time I see there are updates to install...ok let me roll the dice, do the install and then sit back and wait for my laptop to crash, freeze and process at a speed rivaling hair growth on a bald man. I'm sick and tired of wasting time and energy in having to track down fixes for my OS every time microsoft "fixes" my OS. I've always bought a pc...I will be looking at Macs next time.
